De Messenkikker

De messenkikker or the Knifefrog is a podcast/audio book on spotify.

The creators of the podcast wished to create an animated show of the story and thus had approached Sander at Urrebuk. He had been working on this project a few months before I had my internship at the studio. So the designs were mostly already done. 

However knowing I would be working on this project, I decided to practice drawing all the characters and prepare them for possible animations as you can see below.

The animatic

I remember getting much further with the animatic, like full colours and such, in preparation for the pitch that Sander was making and asking feedback on from people he knows in the industry. 

Though I cannot remember if I ever kept that version or if I just sent it to him and left it at that. So this is the only version that I have, which is better for I cannot spoil too much like this.

MOHO

I was also tasked to figure out what program might work the best to create this show. I ended up trying After effects with some extensions first, but the lag made it hard to work. So through some research I ended up working with MOHO. 

Though it was quite a lot to figure out at first as you will see below. I eventually did manage to create some small animations to give an idea of what it could look like.

I have made so much work for 'de messenkikker' I unfortunately couldn't possibly put everything on this page for it would lag so bad. Which is a shame because I had way too much fun working on this project and I hope that one day I can work on it again. Who knows.

Eneco

Can't show or say too much about this project, Eneco had approached Urrebuk for easter and we made a video for them in a very short time. 

I was tasked with designing the easter bunny with the style that Eneco uses themselves in mind. Which ended up being the designs down below. I also made them in illustrator and from there Sander pretty much picked up the rest. Managed to make some backgrounds for inspiration that ended up being used in the final video too. 

Urrebuk Website and Social media

During my internship, Sander was working on redesigning the website for Urrebuk. I suggested he could try with social media as well and so a new project was born.
